This emblematic address in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, which had been the location of the Claude Sainlouis bistro since the 1950s, became Cyril Lignac’s second restaurant, Aux Près, in 2011. Over and beyond being a media personality and savvy entrepreneur – with four restaurants, five pâtisseries and two chocolate shops – Cyril Lignac is a talented chef who has trained with heavyweights like Alain Passard and Pierre Hermé and earned a Michelin star for his restaurant Le Quinzième.
Aux Près is Lignac’s alternative ‘gastro bistro’ venue, where a combination of inventive dishes and major classics invite you on a permanent sensory escape – think crab and Madras Curry Galette, and Lamb Chops from Aveyron (the chef’s native region) with Korean spices.
The décor is in keeping with the eatery’s historical spirit, however, a cosier atmosphere has been achieved.
