La Poule au Pot is the new venue of expression for the culinary talents of famous 2-star chef Jean-François Piège. This legendary restaurant opened over 80 years ago in the Halles district and thus verges on being an institution. Today the restaurant, which reopened under the colours of Jean-François in 2018, is a heartfelt tribute to traditional French cuisine, with a constant home-cooked feel. Dishes aren’t served plated, but rather are presented in beautiful silverware for a touch of class. Here, you find nothing but the most traditional dishes – like Hachis Parmentier, Snails, Egg Mimosa, Blanquette of Veal, Frog’s Legs, and the legendary Onion Soup Gratinée – all brilliantly brought up to date. The 1930s décor is in the same vein, with its grape motif wallpaper, ceramic floor tiles, banquette seating and globe pendant lights.
