This remarkable Saint-Julien Cru Classé covers 60 hectares of superb gravel mounds. The owners of Château Branaire-Ducru began revitalizing the estate in the early 1990s, with the introduction of modern winemaking facilities, the replanting of vines and so on. For several vintages now, the wines have excelled as perfect examples of the classic Bordeaux style. Ready to drink now, the 2012 shows great complexity, combining freshness and beautiful ripeness, as well as minerality and richness of fruit. The palate has a good density of delicate tannins and lovely balance right through to the pure and focused finish.
2012 Blend: 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, 3% Cabernet Franc
