The wines of this major Saint-Estèphe Cru Classé are loved for the smooth and silky character that results from their high proportion of Merlot. Owned by the Tesseron family since 1960, this classified growth vineyard has an excellent terroir comprising a gravel mound on a limestone subsoil that is rich in blue clay. This 2007 marks a turning point in the history of Château Lafon Rochet, since it was the first vintage produced under Basile Tesseron, who has brought his incredible energy to the estate. The vintage is deliciously ripe and perfect for drinking now.
2007 Blend: 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdot
