Château Mouton Rothschild 2006 is an utter classic, made in the estate’s iconic style. It reveals a complex aromatic profile combining wild blackberry and raspberry, spices and white pepper, mingled with the hallmark hints of smokiness of this great terroir of Pauillac gravel. The palate is full, unctuous and powerful, underpinned by a superb tannic structure from the old-vine Cabernet Sauvignon that covers most of the vineyard. These vines also bring a great deal of freshness to the wines, giving them an ability to age that is rare. Today, it is Philippine de Rothschild’s children who run the estate.
2006 Blend: 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot
